Your soundtrack
Work with us on the music for your event. Songs are prepared as part of a radio-style stream rather than played from someone’s laptop at your venue.

MELBOURNE PARTIES · MUSIC WITHOUT AN ONSITE DJ
Looking for a cheap DJ in Melbourne? Consider a different way to play.
If you are searching for a cheap DJ in Melbourne, you might not actually need someone behind the decks. V1 Party Radio creates a personalised live radio stream for your celebration, with your music, announcements and a private link to play through your own speakers.

What are you paying for?
Personalised radio moments
Choose an announcer voice and review radio sweepers that mention the people and moments you want to celebrate. Optional family and friend greetings can make it even more personal.
One private listening link
Use a charged phone, tablet or laptop connected to suitable speakers. Where included, guests can use a QR code to request songs from your event catalogue.
Party Radio versus hiring a DJ
V1 Party Radio could suit you if…
- You want a planned music experience for a birthday, engagement, dinner or wedding reception.
- You already have speakers or a venue sound system.
- You’re comfortable connecting a device and keeping a reliable internet connection.
- You want personalised announcements without paying for someone to attend.
Choose a live DJ if you need…
- Beatmatching, mixing and live changes based on the dancefloor.
- A person to run speeches, microphone duties or live MC announcements.
- Someone onsite to supply equipment, manage sound or troubleshoot a venue.
- Live interaction or last-minute set changes throughout the night.
How much is it?
Our advertised Starter package begins at $179 AUD for three hours. Other packages and extras are shown in the Party Planner. You can send your plan first and review a quote before deciding whether to book.
Because the service is delivered online, we don't charge for a DJ travelling to your Melbourne venue. Your venue may still have music-use licensing responsibilities, and you provide the device, internet connection and sound equipment.
Common Melbourne party questions
Will someone come to my venue?
No. V1 Party Radio is a remote streaming service, not a DJ or equipment hire company. You or the venue play the stream over your sound system.
Can we request songs on the night?
Guest requests are available where included in the chosen package and depend on the catalogue, queue and applicable permissions. The station keeps playing like radio.
Is this only for Melbourne?
No. Although we’re based in Melbourne, the service is designed for celebrations across Australia. See our Australia-wide party music guide.
Music licensing status: Permissions for personalised event streaming are still being finalised. Paid event streams will only be delivered once the necessary licences and permissions are confirmed. See our FAQ.
