A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Your party questions, answered.

From choosing your music to connecting your speakers, here’s what to know before your night.

How would we set it up at the venue?

Choose one phone, tablet or laptop for playback. Connect it to the venue’s sound system, open your private event link in a browser and press play. Test the connection, volume and speakers beforehand. Keep the device plugged in, turn on Do Not Disturb and prevent it from sleeping. Nominate someone at the event to look after playback.

What equipment would we need?

One phone, tablet or laptop with its charger, reliable internet and speakers that suit your room. Depending on the venue’s system you may need an audio cable or adapter — the venue can usually tell you which. A phone speaker on its own won’t fill a dancefloor.

Can we use the venue’s existing speakers?

Usually, yes. Most venues have an input for a phone or laptop. Ask their sound technician how to connect and who controls the volume. A cable is the most reliable option; Bluetooth works too once you’ve tested the range.

What internet connection would we need?

A stable connection at the playback device — venue Wi-Fi or mobile data both work when tested at the actual location. Guest Wi-Fi can get busy, so a tested phone hotspot makes a great backup. We check it with you before the night.

What if the internet drops out?

Before your event we run a connection check with you at the venue and agree a backup, usually a phone hotspot that’s been tested on site. If the connection blips, the player reconnects when you press play again. A strong, tested connection is the key to a smooth night, so we help you get that right first.

Are guest requests and the QR code optional?

Yes. Both are optional and included at no extra cost if you choose them. Prefer a prepared playlist without guest requests? That’s fine too.

Do guests need an app?

No app is needed for the request page. Guests scan the QR code with their phone camera and open it in a browser. Only one designated device plays through the speakers. Guests need internet to send requests.

How would the QR code work?

We provide a printable QR design linked to your event’s request page. Put it on tables, at the bar or near the dancefloor, and test it before guests arrive. The website demo lets you try the experience; your booked event gets its own request page.

Would every request play straight away?

Requests join the queue and play after the current song, so the music never stops mid-track. When lots of guests request at once, they play in turn, and the playlist’s repeat limits keep the night varied. We set your request preferences with you before the event.

Can we choose must-play songs and songs to avoid?

Yes. Tell us your favourite genres, artists, must-play songs and anything to avoid. We confirm track availability before the event. Party and Big Night include one consolidated playlist and wording revision. Starter includes names and wording corrections.

What are personalised announcer messages?

These are short, prepared messages recorded by your chosen AI announcer voice, using your celebration’s name and approved wording. Starter includes one different message, Party three and Big Night five. We agree when and how often they repeat. You can provide pronunciation guidance and review the wording.

Is this a live DJ or MC service?

No DJ needed. Your soundtrack, announcements and greetings are prepared in advance and stream straight to your speakers, so you get a personalised party without paying for someone on site. Just nominate a guest to look after the playback device and volume.

Could it work for a wedding?

Yes — it’s a great fit for the reception. We prepare music for arrivals, dinner and the dancefloor, with your names in the announcements and optional greetings from loved ones who can’t be there. Moments that need exact timing — the ceremony, entrances, first dance and speeches — are best played directly by someone at the venue, then your party station takes over. We’ll plan the running order with you.

Who handles volume or pauses for speeches?

A nominated guest or the venue looks after volume and playback, and we give them simple setup steps beforehand. For speeches, they turn the volume down and back up afterwards. Tell us when speeches are planned and we’ll shape the music around them.

What do the packages include?

Starter is $149 AUD for two hours and one prepared announcer message; Party is $239 AUD for four hours and three messages; Big Night is $319 AUD for six hours and five messages. Every package includes an event listening page, your choice of AI announcer, setup instructions and a pre-event connection check. Guest requests and a printable QR design are optional at no extra cost. Family & friend greetings and sound effects are optional extras. You provide suitable speakers, a playback device, a charger and reliable internet.

Could we extend the party on the night?

Planning a longer night? Choose the package that covers it — Big Night gives you six hours — or tell us your full timing and we’ll quote extra hours before you book. Extra time has to be arranged in advance, so we suggest building in a little buffer.

Would our stream be separate from V1 RADIO?

Yes. Your celebration gets its own event stream with your playlist, announcements and greetings, completely separate from the main V1 RADIO broadcast. Your listening and request links are made for your event, and we confirm access arrangements before booking.

How far ahead would we need to book?

The earlier the better, so there’s time to build your playlist and collect greetings. Send your preferred date and we’ll confirm availability, your preparation deadlines and your quote by reply.

Is there an event setup fee?

Setup is included in every package. You supply your speakers, playback device and reliable internet. We agree the full scope and total before accepting a booking.

Can we add family & friend greetings?

Yes. It’s an optional +$79 AUD add-on for Party and Big Night, and that one price covers every greeting you collect — there’s no per-message charge. Aim for 10–20 seconds each; recording on the invitation page stops at 30 seconds. We agree timing and repeat frequency. Send recordings before your organiser’s deadline so they can be prepared and loaded in advance. Messages submitted during the event are not added to that night’s soundtrack.

Can we add sound effects to the announcements?

Dry voice, with no sound effects, is included. Sound effects cost $5 AUD per included announcer message: +$5 for Starter, +$15 for Party or +$25 for Big Night. This is separate from the family & friend greetings add-on. Any additional messages or production are quoted separately.

Does an enquiry reserve our date?

An enquiry starts a no-obligation conversation. We check your date, recommend a package and send your quote. Your date is secured once you accept your quote and payment is received — nothing is charged when you enquire or try the demo.
