V1 PARTY RADIO · LEGAL INFORMATION
Music licensing
V1 Party Radio’s event-service licensing arrangements are being finalised. Paid event services will commence only after the applicable licences have been purchased and their scope confirmed. This page does not represent that those licences are currently held.
This information explains the scope of music use supplied by V1 Party Radio and the separate responsibilities that may apply to an event, its organiser and its venue.
Prepared 15 October 2026. Licensing enquiries: [email protected].
1. Service licensing requirements
At launch, V1 Party Radio will supply its music preparation and streaming service under the licences and permissions applicable to the agreed service, repertoire, delivery method and territory. These permissions will govern the music use supplied by V1 Party Radio; they do not transfer ownership of music or confer unrestricted rights on a customer, guest or venue.
The accepted booking schedule identifies the event, service period and any material restrictions relevant to delivery. A use outside that scope must be assessed before it is undertaken.
2. Musical works and sound recordings
A song or composition and a particular recording of that song involve separate rights. APRA AMCOS administers relevant rights in musical works, including licensing for applicable online uses. Rights in sound recordings require the applicable permission from the rights holder or licensing body.
Permission for one form of use does not automatically cover every form of copying, hosting, streaming, public performance or audiovisual use. V1 Party Radio’s permissions apply to the service it supplies and the repertoire covered by those permissions.
3. Venue and organiser responsibilities
Playing music at a venue, workplace, public event or function can involve separate public-performance requirements. OneMusic Australia, an APRA AMCOS and PPCA initiative, provides licences for relevant venue and event uses. An existing venue licence must be assessed against the actual event and use.
The organiser must provide accurate information about the location, type of event, audience and any intended public or commercial use. V1 Party Radio and the organiser will clarify relevant venue or event responsibilities before the booking is confirmed. A venue’s licence does not automatically cover V1 Party Radio’s separate preparation and streaming activities, and a streaming licence does not automatically replace a venue’s obligations.
A private event link alone does not determine whether all uses at the event are private or exempt. Relevant requirements depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
4. Permitted customer use
The customer may use the supplied listening access for the event and service period recorded in the booking schedule, and share event-specific request or greeting links with the intended participants where included. Access does not create an ongoing subscription or a right to use the service for a separate event.
The service does not supply ownership of songs, downloadable music files, permission to resell or redistribute music, or permission to rebroadcast the stream through another station, platform or public service. Any proposed additional use requires prior written assessment and the necessary permissions.
5. Guest requests and repertoire
Song requests are limited to the event catalogue, applicable permissions, agreed exclusions and operational rules. A request is not a guarantee of availability, immediate playback or a particular recording or version. Essential selections must be identified during preparation so that availability and any restrictions can be confirmed before final approval.
Music that cannot lawfully be supplied for the agreed use may be omitted or replaced following discussion with the organiser. Customer-supplied files or links are not treated as proof of copyright permission.
6. Event recordings, video and social media
Permission to listen to a streamed soundtrack does not automatically authorise recording or distributing that soundtrack, or synchronising music with a video. Filming an event and publishing a video containing music may require additional permissions for the musical work, sound recording and intended platform or audience.
Customers and guests should establish the permissions relevant to any recording, livestream, advertisement or social-media publication they intend to make. V1 Party Radio does not grant those additional rights through the standard event service.
7. Personal recordings and announcements
Contributors retain rights in their original greeting recordings to the extent they own them. Submission grants only the permission described in the consent notice, privacy policy and service agreement for the identified event. It does not clear commercial music, copyrighted backing tracks or other third-party material included in a contributor’s recording.
Personal announcement production is subject to the approved wording, available production tools and the rights applicable to those tools. No customer acquires the right to clone a contributor’s voice or reuse personal material outside the agreed purpose.
8. Restrictions, changes and rights concerns
Licensing conditions can restrict territories, repertoire, delivery methods or particular uses. If a material restriction affects a proposed booking, it will be identified before confirmation. If a restriction arises after confirmation, the parties will assess a lawful replacement or other remedy under the service agreement and applicable law.
Rights holders may contact [email protected] with the work or recording concerned, the relevant use, their authority to raise the concern and sufficient information to investigate it. Affected material may be restricted during a reasonable investigation.
9. Official information
Current licensing information is available from APRA AMCOS and OneMusic Australia. This page explains the service arrangements and is not an endorsement or licence certificate issued by either organisation.
